Matt Holme: The quick controls system remains from UEFA Champions League with the addition of the more free-flowing "Quick Free Kick" system which we took from FIFA 08.

IGN: Have you expanded on the quick control system? Have any new control mechanics been implemented in this game? Captain Your Country can be played as a single player or with up to 3 additional friends in Co-Op mode.

In this mode you can either play as your hero or as yourself and lead your team to European glory in the UEFA Euro 2008 tournament mode.

We have also included the Captain Your Country mode, which uses the Be A Pro control system and third-person camera. As you can see, the mode is extremely extensive and will keep even the most hardcore gamer busy for days. On top of this, as you defeat countries you're also earning credits to purchase stickers for your Sticker Book. These points are later used to boost your player's attributes and grow your team. beat a defender with a skill move and you earn 10 growth points. As you're completing these challenges you are also earning Growth Points in real time that are earned by performing specific moves during in game action. When you visit countries you're presented with various challenges ranging from scenario based matches, Be A Pro matches where you need to complete objectives while controlling one specific player, Penalty Shootout challenges as well as a complete schedule of UEFA Euro 2008 Qualifiers and Finals matches. This map acts as your central navigational tool as well as a tracking device. After you choose which country you want to represent you are presented with a map of Europe. This mode is basically a combination of every other game mode that we've featured in our football products over the years all rolled up into one. It really adds to the pressure and realism of taking a clutch spot kick or free kick at goal. It has worked very well in other sports games, and it turns out that it also works extremely well in football games. Kick Stick allows you to take set-pieces such as Free Kicks, Penalties, Goal Kicks and Corners by moving the right stick in a natural kicking motion. Kick Stick will ensure that moments that are synonymous with big tournament soccer tournaments such as Euro (take Beckham's penalty kick from the 2004 tournament as an example) are also an integral part of the PS2 version. The first is the introduction of right stick shooting through a system we have called "Kick Stick". In addition, two major changes have been made to key parts of the AI. From there we've further tuned the AI to make the game more free flowing and opened it up to give the game more of an attacking style. Firstly, we've integrated all of the AI features and improvements that were part of FIFA 08. The team that built this game is the same one that built Champions League however the game itself is completely different. IGN: What changes have been made to the title to improve on last year's UEFA Champion's League game? Matt Holme: We've come a long way from where we left off with the Champions League game.
